8 Easy Steps to Grooming a Dog

If you’re looking to groom your dog, there are a few things that you should know. The first thing is that before beginning any grooming process, it’s important to wash the dog with shampoo and conditioner. Then, clip off any loose hair around the ears or feet so it doesn’t get caught in the brush. Next, use scissors or clippers for long hair and/or mats on the body of your dog. It’s always good to have some combs handy as well! After trimming up all those pesky hairs from their paws and nose (you’ll need nail clippers too!), brush out all of those knots with a slicker brush until they’re nice and smooth. One of the most important steps for grooming a dog is brushing their teeth, which can be done using canine toothpaste and an animal toothbrush or finger scrubs with baking soda mixed in warm water. Be sure to brush your pet’s top and bottom rows of teeth, as well as removing any plaque buildup on either side by rubbing it off with your fingers. Make sure you’re moving at a steady pace so that they don’t become irritated! If possible, get them used to have their mouth handled from when they are young so that this process will go smoothly later on down the line.
